The Donald Trump Organization has announced the launch of a new mobile service and a smartphone personalized with the name of the President of the United States of America. The company, owned by former President Donald Trump, also announced that it will sell the T1 smartphone, which comes in a gold-colored metal case and an engraved American flag, the Financial Times reports.
The company, which is run by Trump's sons, unveiled a gold-colored, U.S.-made smartphone for $499, which will be released in August. The new Trump-branded phone is expected to be released in September, priced at $499, while a monthly subscription to the network will cost $47.45. The new service, 'Trump Mobile,' includes unlimited talk, text and internet, as well as roadside assistance and benefits for telemedicine and pharmacy services.
Donald Trump has targeted smartphone makers in his efforts to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. No major smartphone maker makes its devices in the U.S., and the president in May threatened companies like Apple and Samsung with a tariff of at least 25 percent by the end of June if they don't manufacture and build these products domestically.
