In an interview for "S'e Luan Topi", the famous actor Laert Vasili highlighted a 'wound' of the communist system of the time, which is known by many, but not mentioned by anyone.
Vasili recalls one of the saddest moments of his life: he said that his 6-month-old sister (his parents' first child, before he was born) lost her life after they took too much blood during tests. The artist further adds that the blood was to be used by dictator Enver Hoxha to regenerate his own blood.
He said that this story has happened to many children, not just his sister, but no one has had the courage to speak out.
He said that when his mother was pregnant with him, she fled to Delvina because she was afraid she would give birth to the child in Tirana.
"Everyone knows what happened in the hidden coves of the Artificial Lake, but no one had the courage to say it. The dictator dies, Albania is filled with endless lines of people crying with oi... you can barely laugh, you can barely cry. Two and a half million Albanians have cried with oi... Blood was taken from babies and the dictator's blood was regenerated, that's how my sister, 6 months old, lost her life. When you took the children for tests, they took more blood and you didn't understand, so the mother went to Delvina and gave birth to me there, because it was safe there. No one talks about this. As for what's underground in Mali me Gropa... no one talks about the files yet, do you understand what hypocrisy?", said the actor.
