The engagement of Prince Leka Zogu II and Blerta Celibashi has not gone unnoticed by the international community. The French magazine "Point de Vue" devoted an article to the ceremony on the white sand beach and turquoise waters of Ksamil.
According to the magazine, on October 11, the prince, 43, gathered about 70 friends and relatives to formalize his engagement to the 27-year-old photographer. The prince's daughter from Elia Zaharia, a marriage that ended in a tumultuous divorce, was also present. Geraldine, who celebrates her fifth birthday on October 22, will celebrate her fifth birthday.
At the luxurious complex where the ceremony was held, japrak were served before the prince raised the first toast. He thanked the guests in English, while Blerta spoke in Albanian. Then, the two headed to the dance floor for their first dance.
On one of the exchanged rings, it is written: "Love endures all things."
In an interview, the couple shares their experience and expectations from the ceremony.
-How would you like the evening to unfold?
Prince Leka: Our engagement should reflect our sincerity and simplicity. It was not only a personal moment, but also a thank you to everyone who has supported us and beyond that, a form of sharing with the Albanian people.
-How did you decide to formalize your relationship?
Prince Leka: The decision came naturally. Our understanding has always been based on trust and friendship. We knew we were ready when our personal and professional paths could move in the same direction.
-Can you introduce us to your fiancée?
Prince Leka: Blerta is strong, cultured, caring and empathetic. She is a vegetarian, loves nature and enjoys telling stories through the camera. She embodies a form of Albanian modernism.
-What qualities attracted you to each other?
Prince Leka: Intelligence, quiet strength, and sensitivity towards others. She behaves with dignity and shows true kindness.
Blerta Celibashi: I was deeply touched by Leka's integrity, patience and dedication to his mission. He shows a humility rare for someone in his position. His sense of responsibility towards Albania and the Albanian people touched me deeply.
-How do you predict your future?
Prince Leka: Our desire is to continue to build a life of service and meaning. Albania is constantly changing. I hope that by encouraging diplomatic efforts and helping the Albanian people progress towards a European future, the royal family will continue to maintain a balance between the republic, history and heritage.
