Endrit Brahimllari has reacted after the statement of PL leader Ilir Meta, who said that he is being held in isolation due to Braimllari's signatures regarding the lobbying issue.
Former associate Endrit Braimllari has considered this statement as an attempt to intimidate and damage his image. He describes Meta's attack as an attempt to divert attention from his real problem with justice.
"A clear attempt to intimidate me and damage my public image. Removing investigative materials from the file serves to distract attention from his real problem with justice ," says Braimllari.
The former Secretary General of the SMI clarifies that he did not sign any lobbying contract during the time he was in this position, while regarding the invoice published by Ilir Meta, he says that it is a legal procedure, paid through banking services, declared to the CEC and audited by the CEC.
"Endrit Braimllari has not signed any lobbying contract. The invoice he refers to is a legal procedure, paid by bank, declared to the CEC and audited by the CEC. He knows very well that he is being investigated for non-declaration. He should know clearly that it does not constitute a violation of the law when he declares his expenses and their legal sources. To my knowledge, the party I previously belonged to only had lobbying when Mr. Meta was party leader," adds Braimllari.
The accusations addressed by Ilir Meta against the former Secretary General of the SMI, Endrit Braimllari, came after his appointment as vice-president of the Tirana Municipal Council.
