
The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, hosted today in a meeting the new graduates of the Albanian School of Political Studies, whom he congratulated on the successful completion of the program and encouraged them to actively engage in the public and social life of the country.
During the conversation, the Head of State praised the role of the younger generation in strengthening democracy and institutions, emphasizing that the knowledge gained should serve as a basis for greater participation in decision-making processes and the development of the country.
An important part of the discussion was dedicated to Albania's European integration process. President Begaj emphasized that the country is at a key moment on its journey towards the European Union, as it advances towards the closing phase of negotiations.
"The phase we are in requires much more work, much more commitment and much more cooperation to consolidate the rule of law, to build democratic institutions, to strengthen human rights and freedoms, to strengthen the media and for inclusive and constructive dialogue," said President Begaj.
According to him, membership in the European Union remains one of Albania's most important strategic objectives, but at the same time a great responsibility for fulfilling European reforms and standards in all sectors of society.
The President emphasized the need for the continuation of transformative reforms, which according to him demonstrate the maturity of the Albanian state and society to face the challenges of the future.
"You are the ones who will build the future," Begaj addressed the young people, encouraging them to deepen their knowledge and actively contribute to public life.
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening democracy, increasing accountability in decision-making, and meeting European standards as key elements for the country's further development was also discussed.
President Begaj also praised the contribution of the Albanian School of Political Studies in creating a new political and civic culture with a European spirit, and thanked the Council of Europe for its continued support in this process.
