The last plenary session of this parliamentary session was accompanied by strong debates and retorts between the majority and the opposition, where the protest held outside the Parliament was at the center of the discussions.
The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, criticized the Democratic Party for its stance on the protest and defended the actions of the State Police, emphasizing that violence against officers cannot be tolerated.
"You are a party that has been raped by that protest. But we will never tolerate for a moment that State Police employees are attacked. The blood of State Police employees is the blood of the state itself. Whoever dares to raise a hand against State Police employees raises a hand against the state itself. The police are doing their duty excellently. You remain a group that has been raped by the protest, that is why you do not distance yourself. Mr. Speaker of the Assembly must severely condemn violence against the police", Balla said.
After this statement, the Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, drew Balla's attention to the language used during his speech, calling it inappropriate.
"Be careful with your vocabulary," said Peleshi.
On the other hand, Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa reacted to Balla's statements, accusing him of double standards in relation to the State Police. She demanded that the language used by him not be limited to a mere warning.
"The person who has attacked the State Police and violated the opposition police does not get away with a single remark," said Zhupa.
