Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that members, supporters and voters of the Socialist Party have also participated in the protests of recent months.
During the extended meeting of the SP parliamentary group and the government cabinet, Rama focused on the dissatisfaction expressed in the protests and on social networks, saying that they should be read as a message to the majority and as an indication that expectations towards the government have increased.
Rama admits that state administration employees and socialists rose up in protest against him.
He claimed that those who worked in government jobs joined other citizens on the boulevard at dinner. According to him, the absorbing force of the protest was more powerful for them than his figure.
"Ungrateful is the starting point of the new perspective we need because in it lies the most wrong meaning. I want to say this from the beginning, looking into the eyes of those who protested against the mayor, those who took to the boulevards, those who protested silently or loudly, since the elections of last June. You are not ungrateful, you are the new measure of our standards.
You who filled social networks and boulevards did not protest against the Albania we built in the first 3 terms.
Quite a few of them who were members of the Socialist Party and supporters and voters, or even those who were in government jobs and in the military, went to protest. They did not go there to join the song "Rama, resign" or "deny the transformation of Albania." They joined because its absorbing force was greater for them than my figure.
"They were in the square because they were driven by a deep need to convey a stronger message than their affiliation with a party or the color of the government they may have voted for," Rama said.

Per me tepër këtu ka pasur vetëm farsë zgjedhore për te ruajtur pushtetin e baballarëve. Këtu vazhdon gjysma shqiptarëve partizane dhunojnë vjedhin dhe masakrojnë gjysmën tjetër. Akoma nuk ka paqe sociale për shqiptarët përderi sa kontrollohen komisionet zgjedhore nga Partitë dhe përzgjidhen gomerë në Parlament nga te emeruarit Kryetare Partie që vazhdimisht kanë punuar dhe punojnë kundër interesave te Shqipërisë .
