After the murder of Kosta Plaka and the suicide of the perpetrator Refit (Nertil) Buzi, the 35-year-old's ex-mother-in-law, who was seriously injured during the attack, also died in hospital.
The number of victims of the tragedy that occurred in Roskovec has risen to three. Bejlere Plaka, who was seriously injured during the gun attack carried out by her ex-son-in-law, Refit (Nertil) Buzi, has died in hospital, despite doctors' efforts to keep her alive.
Earlier in the day, the 35-year-old shot and killed his ex-father-in-law, Kosta Plaka, wounded his wife, Bejlere Plaka, and forcibly took his ex-fiancée, Rozalinda Plaka. The latter was released a few hours later during a police operation.
After the crime, Buzi was surrounded by RENEA special forces in the area of the former helicopter field, in the village of Kurjan, where he remained trapped inside his vehicle. Despite intensive negotiations for several hours, he refused to surrender and, according to the Police, at around 16:35 he allegedly shot himself with the shotgun he was carrying.
With the death of Bejlere Plaka, the toll of the serious incident rises to three victims: Kosta Plaka, his wife Bejlere Plaka and the suspected perpetrator, Refit (Nertil) Buzi.
Rozalinda Plaka, the author's former partner, was rescued during the police intervention and later left the hospital premises. She is at the police station, where she is being questioned as part of the investigation.
The Police and the Prosecution continue their investigations to fully document the circumstances and motives of this serious criminal event.
