A stabbing that occurred on the afternoon of October 28 in the "Kala" neighborhood of Berat shocked public opinion.
A 42-year-old man, who had come to visit the Berat Castle with his family, was stabbed by a 63-year-old man who was offering his horse riding services to tourists in the "Kala" neighborhood.
It is learned that the victim, Keli Hoxha, had a conflict with the author Kristo Mema (alias Kostandin Hoxha) over the price of the horse photos his children took, and during the argument, the author pulled out a knife and shot him several times.
The entire scene took place in the presence of the 42-year-old's children and wife.
The 63-year-old did not have permission to give tourists horseback rides for a fee, although he had been practicing this activity for a long time in the city-museum castle.
Family members of Keli Hoxha, 42, who lives in Tirana and originally from Tropoja, say that the conflict started only because he touched the horse with his hand.
They deny that they cursed or insulted the author, stating that everything happened suddenly, after Kelly simply replied: "There's nothing wrong."
Hoxha received serious injuries and died upon arrival at Berat Hospital.
