A photo of 34-year-old Eugert Sino, who was arrested after a van with an arsenal of weapons was discovered in downtown Tirana, has been released.
Eugert Sino was arrested by police, suspected of being the possessor of an arsenal of weapons discovered in Tirana.
During the operation, on "Myslym Shyri" street, the police searched the 34-year-old's van, where they found:
A total of 23 firearms of various types were found inside the van, 5 of which were snipers and 1 silencer, 15,000 rounds of ammunition, boxes of handcuffs and police uniforms, various weapon parts, remote detonation and tracking devices, etc. As can be seen from the police footage, some of the weapons were stuffed into boxes.
More specifically, 12 are pistols of the types “Beretta”, “Glock”, “Rex Delta”, “Ruger-57” and “Tanfoglio”; 6 automatic weapons; 5 long-barreled weapons (with optical sights, similar to snipers); 1 silencer; 17 combs for various firearms; various firearm parts; 15,000 cartridges; 17 boxes of handcuffs similar to those used by the Police; 12 mobile phones and devices used for remote explosions; electronic tracking devices (GPS); wave jamming devices; banknote counting devices; 3 sets of uniforms similar to those of the Police.
The weapons are suspected to have been planned to be used in criminal incidents by a criminal group based in Tirana, Laç and Burrel. Investigators have discovered, in addition to the vehicle that was seized in the "Myslym Shyri" area, the main base of the group, where the weapons were kept, in the same area nearby.
The seized weapons are relatively new, and are suspected to have been trafficked from Kosovo, but are not related to previous raids for arms trafficking. Investigators are working to identify other individuals who may be part of the network. The arrested person, Eugert Sino, has a previous record for various criminal offenses.
