The High Court has rejected Fatime Kryemadhi's appeal, upholding the decision of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC), which rejected her withdrawal from the request for a summary trial. The decision was made this Tuesday by the Criminal College, paving the way for the continuation of the process according to the SCOC's previous decision.
Fatime Kryemadhi had opposed the decision, stating that she did not want to be tried in a summary procedure. At that hearing, she argued that she had not committed money laundering and that her income was legal, while claiming that not all the financial evidence she had presented had been taken into consideration.
According to SPAK's accusation, Fatime Kryemadhi does not justify 98 thousand euros, 246 thousand dollars, 100 thousand euros declared as payments from the company "Agi Cons" for the repayment of loans, as well as about 310 thousand euros that are considered to have an unjustified source. The prosecution claims that the two loans taken for the purchase of apartments were repaid in cash, for which a legal source has not been proven. SPAK has also questioned the notarial statements and the alleged cash loans, arguing that the persons who are alleged to have given these amounts do not appear to have declared them at the border points.
Fatime Kryemadhi is one of the defendants in the SPAK file related to the investigations against former President Ilir Meta and former MP Monika Kryemadhi. She is accused of the criminal offense of money laundering, while Pirro Xhixho and Ema Çoku are also being tried in the same process. According to the prosecution, the case is related to a suspected financial scheme to conceal and legalize assets, charges that the defendants have denied.
With the decision of the Supreme Court, the trial against Fatime Kryemadhi will continue at the Criminal Court of Kosovo according to the previously determined procedure.
