
Ronaldinho has spoken for the first time about his experience in a Paraguayan prison, where the former legendary Brazil striker was convicted of passport forgery.
In a brief account, the 45-year-old thought he was going to be hit at first, but then the security guards asked him to do some football tricks to entertain them.
Among other things, Ronaldinho said that everyone had a wonderful day and that the time spent in the Paraguayan prison was very good.
Ronaldinho on his prison experience: " I thought they were going to beat me and do all the horrible things that usually happen in prison. But instead, they called the guards to organize a football match and asked me to do some tricks to entertain them. The morning after my arrest, they took us outside to play a five-a-side game. The guards and some prison officials came to watch the match with cameras on; everyone had a great day. I can say that my time there was good ."
In Paraguay, Ronaldinho had gone with a fake passport, so he was arrested.
The Brazilian star enjoyed a stellar career in South America and Europe, winning the Champions League, La Liga, Serie A and the Copa Libertadores. He also won numerous individual awards, including the Ballon d'Or in 2005 and the Best FIFA Men's Player in 2004 and 2005. Born in Porto Alegre, he lifted the World Cup trophy in South Korea and Japan in 2002 and the Copa America in 1999.
