The action to demolish dozens of buildings in the tourist village of Theth continues today, even though there has been resistance from residents.
A resident of the area, Nikë Guri, told Mcn TV that there are over 500-600 objects that are not in the legalization process. He considers the action an anti-advertising, stating that tourists are leaving out of fear. According to the resident, the action should have been carried out at a different time.
"We have the houses, but we have no papers, no title deeds. I can be affected too. I built it in 2009, but I have no papers, nothing in the world. I built on my grandfather's property. In 46 we have some title deeds, the properties that my grandfather had, were inherited with my father for 7501. I haven't received any letter that can be intervened. But we don't know, because it's like a river, it rained and it took away. I don't know where it's going! The political promise is that we will do the title deeds, we will do this, we will do that! As a state, it has invested, but where it should have invested for us villagers, zero investment has been made. There are over 500-600 that do not have a legalization process. I have put the house in the legalization process, but no one recognizes it. All the tourists are fleeing for fear of what is being done. It is an anti-advertisement of this world pearl. This is how it works "The state is going to remove everyone. The demolition is a good thing, but not at this time. It has to find the right time," said the resident.
Meanwhile, today the director of the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, Fatmir Lleshaj, and the chief of the police station, Nik Nikolla, have been dismissed from their duties. The chief of the Theth police station has been suspended, and a disciplinary investigation has been launched against him for serious violations. The reason is the illegal construction in Theth and the occupation of public spaces.
The Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, in a statement to the media, while announcing the dismissals, also warned the leaders of other districts that they will be held accountable if violations of tolerance are found to have been committed in public spaces.
