Brazilian footballer Rafinha has announced that he has retired from playing football at the age of 32.
The Brazilian midfielder, brother of Thiago Alcantara, whose last experience was in Qatar, had been without a club since the summer of 2024, as he was unable to overcome the successive injuries that had penalized him throughout his career.
A career that saw him rise to the top of European football with Barcelona, where he was formed as a footballer, part of the team led by Luis Enrique that dominated the 2014-2015 edition, winning the "Triplet".
With spells at Inter, Celta Vigo, PSG and Real Sociedad, Rafinha had failed to find a permanent place precisely due to his constant physical problems. Between 2017 and 2019, he was out for around 500 days, as a result of a ruptured cruciate ligament and then a torn meniscus.
