Furthermore, the author suggests that Margaret Thatcher had an "extra-protocol friendship" with Lord Bell, her PR director, who, according to sources, liked to touch Thatcher's knee during dinners.
Gaudoin cites reliable sources who have told him about these connections and possible close ties, but some voices, such as Thatcher's authorized biographer, Lord Moore, have dismissed these rumors as untrue.
In addition, Gaudoin discusses the subsequent friendship of Denis Thatcher, Margaret's husband, with model Mandy Rice-Davies, a well-known figure in the famous "Profumo" affair.
She claims that Denis and Rice-Davies exchanged letters and spent time together after Thatcher left the position of prime minister.
In her book, Gaudoin also supports Thatcher for her role as a woman who often challenged the social norms of the time, normalizing female power and paving the way for women in politics.
However, for some, she remains a controversial figure, who has provided more inspiration to women but has also drawn criticism for her stances on some social and political issues.
