The Vetevendosje Movement has asked foreign ambassadors in Kosovo not to interfere in the work of the Constitutional Court. It was LVV MP Adnan Rrustemi who called on several ambassadors not to interfere in the work of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.
In a post on Facebook on Wednesday, he stated that possible interventions through visits or meetings could seriously damage the highest constitutional institution in the country.
"I ask some ambassadors not to destroy the Constitutional Court with visits, meetings and interventions, because the damage to our country will be irreparable ," said Rrustemi.
The Constitutional Court is currently reviewing Vetëvendosje's appeal against President Vjosa Osmani's decree dissolving the Parliament.
We recall that on March 9, the Constitutional Court imposed a temporary measure until March 31, a period during which the president cannot announce new elections, while the Assembly of Kosovo cannot carry out its activities.
Osman's decree to dissolve the Assembly came after the failure to elect a new president on March 5. At the March 5 session, the LVV presented two candidates for president: Glauk Konjufca and Fatmire Kollçaku-Mullhaxha, after preliminary talks between the party's leader, Albin Kurti, and the two main opposition parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo, for a consensual name, had not borne fruit.
Osmani justified her decree by saying that March 5 was the deadline for electing a new president of Kosovo, as her mandate ends on April 4, but that MPs failed to meet the legal deadlines.
However, the ruling party claimed that Osman's decree had no basis, since the procedures for electing the president began on March 5 and there is a 60-day deadline to finalize the process, which is why it appealed to the Constitutional Court.
