Adriatik Lapaj, chairman of the "Albania Becomes" party, has left open the possibility of running for the Mayor of Tirana, after Edi Rama requested the initiation of procedures for the dismissal of Erion Veliaj.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Lapaj stated that the decision to run in Tirana belongs to the party leadership, but added that he must run in these elections.
Excerpt from the interview:
Rakipi: Tirana is expected to go to elections because Rama requested the initiation of procedures to remove Veliaj. What will you do with these elections? Are you interested in running yourself?
Lapaj: There are no elections for the Council this time, but only for the chairman. It is a decision that belongs to the leadership of our movement. I think there should be a competition, but I think this decision will be made by the leadership. We will make a decision based on the structures. This country needs to vote against this government first, but also this political class as a whole.
