A 26-year-old man accused of participating in a criminal organization for the purpose of drug trafficking has been arrested by the State Police in Kavaja, with the aim of extradition to Italy.
SB, 26 years old, resident of Kavaja, who had been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, was arrested.
According to the authorities, the Court of Brescia has assigned the 26-year-old the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Participation in a criminal organization with the aim of trafficking narcotics", an offense for which Italian legislation provides for a sentence of up to 24 years in prison.
Investigations show that the young man is suspected of being part of a criminal organization composed mainly of Albanian citizens, but also Italians. In collaboration with other members of the group, he is accused of trafficking narcotics for distribution in several areas of Italy.
"Another phase of the police operation codenamed "Fast" is being finalized by the Investigation Sector (FAST Albania), at the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.
A 26-year-old man, wanted internationally for participation in a criminal organization for the purpose of drug trafficking, is located, captured and placed in handcuffs, with the aim of extradition to Italy.
Following the successive operations carried out by the operational services of the Search Sector (FAST Albania), at the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, for the localization and capture of citizens declared internationally wanted, another phase of the police operation codenamed "Fast" has been finalized.
As a result of this operation, specialists from the Investigation Sector (FAST Albania), in cooperation with the operational structures of the Durrës DVP and the Kavajë Police Commissariat, located in Kavajë and provisionally arrested, with the aim of extradition to Italy, the citizen:
SB, 26 years old, resident of Kavaja.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Court of Brescia, Italy, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Participation in a criminal organization with the aim of trafficking narcotics", provided for by the Italian Criminal Code. This criminal offense carries a maximum sentence of up to 24 years in prison.
The investigations show that the 26-year-old, as a member of a criminal organization composed mainly of Albanian citizens, but also of some Italian citizens, in collaboration with other members of this organization, trafficked narcotics, with the aim of distributing them in several areas of Italy.
"Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 26-year-old to Italy," the police announced.
