Liverpool have recorded their third consecutive victory in the Premier League, triumphing 5-2 over West Ham in the match held at Anfield, valid for the 28th week of the English championship.
The Reds started the match with a bang, taking the lead in the 5th minute. After a long drive that started with a corner kick and an assist from Rajan Gravenbersh, Hugo Ekitike scored with his left foot from inside the area, sending the ball into the net.
In the 24th minute, Dominik Szoboslai converted another corner kick, while Virgil van Dijk headed in to double the lead.
Shortly before the end of the first half, in the 43rd minute, Mohamed Salah crossed from a corner, Ekitike assisted Alexis McAllister and the Argentine midfielder scored with a precise shot inside the area, bringing the score to 3-0.
West Ham reacted immediately in the second half, narrowing the gap in the 49th minute through Tomas Sucek.
In the 70th minute, Kodi Gakpo scored Liverpool's fourth goal, giving the home side a break. However, just two minutes later, Valentin "Tati" Castellanos headed home a corner kick for West Ham, restoring hope for the visitors.
In the 83rd minute, Aksel Disasi deflected the ball into his own goal after a cross from Jérémie Frimpong, sealing the final score 5-2.
With this victory, Liverpool holds fifth place in the standings with 48 points.
In the other two games of the week, Newcastle were beaten 2-3 by Everton at St. James' Park. Meanwhile, Burnley and Brentford drew 3-4 in a seven-goal thriller. Brentford scored three times in the first half, while the home team drew 3-3 in the second half. The visitors scored the winning goal in extra time.
Albanian striker Armando Broja continues to be injured and was not part of this week's matches.
