Scandals never end/ Psychiatric nurse mistreats patients
The scandals in Albanian healthcare are never ending. A shocking video recently released has highlighted another serious case of patient mistreatment within the public healthcare system, this time in the intensive care unit.
Psychiatry at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center in Tirana.
The footage, initially published by JOQ Albania, shows a patient admitted to the psychiatric ward, who refuses to take her medication, claiming that she is pregnant. Instead of a professional and reassuring response, the video hears a health worker addressing the patient in insulting and threatening tones.
"Get out of here, I'm going to fuck you!", the nurse is heard saying in the video, in a statement that has caused strong reactions in public opinion.
But the denunciation does not stop at just the offensive language. According to the person who published the case, patients in the ward are given medications even under pressure, while in some cases it is alleged that physical force is used to administer them.
If these allegations are true, the case raises serious questions about the treatment of mental health patients in public institutions and the control of ethical standards within hospitals.
The incident is considered even more serious because it concerns patients in a fragile psychological state, who theoretically should be treated with maximum care, patience and professionalism.
After the video was published, the University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” reacted officially, describing the case as an “unacceptable violation of professional ethics”.
Scandal, "Air Albania" plane ends up in Moscow/ Sinan Idrizi helps Russians avoid sanctions
Scandals in Albania are never-ending, both domestically and internationally. This time, it's about the planes of Sinan Idrizi's (now bankrupt) Air Albania company, which ended up being used by Russia to circumvent sanctions imposed by EU countries and the US.
One of the Air Albania planes, which apparently became part of the Russian sanctions-evasion scheme, was recently seen flying to Moscow.
The scheme was discovered by Swiss media outlet "Blick", which revealed in detail how it is operated in these cases. The strangest and most scandalous part, and for which the Albanian government must provide clarification since the Albanian state was also part of this company, is the fact that the plane used in Moscow still bears the "Air Albania" logo.
When the planes leased by Sinan Idrizi's company were returned to the 'parent' company, after the bankruptcy, the logos and name used on these planes should have been deleted. If this happened intentionally, reasonable suspicions arise about the involvement of the Albanian side, led by Sinan Idrizi, in the Russian sanctions circumvention scheme. The Albanian government must provide an answer to all of this.
Supported the protest in Skopje/ Laert Vasili: Returning to Albania will be difficult
Actor Laert Vasili, who supported the student protest in Skopje for the Albanian language today, spoke tonight.
He said that the situation was difficult because there were roadblocks and people arrested.
"Not a very pleasant situation. There have been arrests. The son of a martyr has been arrested. I joined the protest with the KLA veterans and I am now in their allegiance. Returning to Albania will be difficult because there are checkpoints. We are in an environment where we cannot say where we are because News24 is not only followed in Albania," he said.
He said that he chose to cross the border in the early hours of the morning to avoid the blockade at the border, adding that the protest was peaceful and followed all the rules, but the police detained people during the dispersal of the protest, and anyone who objected was arrested.
Fruit and vegetable fire in Lushnje/Saimir Korreshi: The only source to support families, compensation
MP Saimir Korreshi has reacted after the fire that engulfed the fruit and vegetable market in Lushnje, demanding a full investigation into the incident and the identification of the causes that led to the spread of the flames.
Korreshi called on the authorities to take measures to compensate traders who exercise their activity in the market and pay taxes regularly.
He also demanded the restoration of the structure to its previous state and its redesign, noting that the environment has had problems since its inauguration. According to him, traders have constantly complained about high temperatures during the summer, as well as the penetration of rain and cold in the winter.
"We call on the authorities to find out the causes of the fire, compensate the traders who pay taxes for the exercise of the activity. Returning the structure to its previous state is another redesign, as there is a greenhouse effect during the summer and cold rain that enters during the winter, which the traders have complained about since its inauguration ," he said.
