Kanye West is in the spotlight after a statement from the past resurfaced, spurred by a new trailer released for season 7 of the reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” The rapper previously claimed that his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, accused him of “hiring a hitman to kill her” during their stormy divorce proceedings.
These allegations have come to light after the release of a new video, in which the reality star declares that she is in danger from "someone extremely close" to her. More specifically, in the clip in question, Kim Kardashian declares:
“Someone extremely close to me has hired a hitman for my life.” Although she did not reveal who she was referring to, she explained that she learned of the alleged attempt through her private investigators. “I’m terrified,” she said through tears, before implying that the matter was over: “I’m glad it’s over.”
Although it's not clear who she was referring to, Kim Kardashian has taken legal action against other people in the past. In a February 2022 Twitter post, the rapper wrote in all caps: "Yesterday Kim accused me of hiring a hitman to kill her. So let's get this straight. I go to my daughter's party and they accuse me of doing drugs. Then I go play with my son and I pick up my Akira graphic novels and they accuse me of stealing." The 48-year-old Grammy winner stressed that such accusations "could send someone to jail," continuing: "They're playing with the lives of black men like this, whether to set them free or put them in jail. I'm not messing with my black kids anymore."
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian married in 2014 and had four children, North, Shadow, Chicago and Psalm, before divorcing in 2021. The divorce was accompanied by a bitter confrontation, with the artist often publicly criticizing his ex-wife for raising their children, which led her to publicly respond by denouncing "his need to attack her in interviews and on social media."
