The president's chief of staff, Learta Hollaj, has stated that President Vjosa Osmani has implemented what the Constitution requires, in the case of the decree to dissolve the Parliament.
"The President implemented what the Constitution requires. So, she fulfilled a constitutional obligation, not a desire. She would violate the Constitution if she did not issue such a decree," Hollaj wrote.
According to her, accusations of "blind power, monarchy, arbitrariness and insult" show a lack of tolerance towards different constitutional interpretations.
"Accusing him of power blindness, monarchy, arbitrariness, and all sorts of insults that it is a shame to mention here, shows that you do not have even minimal tolerance for people who may simply have a different interpretation of the Constitution than yours," she said.
Hollaj emphasized that the President has said that she welcomes the sending of this decree to the Constitutional Court and that she will respect any decision.
"In a republic, zeal for the Constitution is a duty, not an ambition," said the Presidency official.
