As the talks continue, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued a statement emphasizing the Iranian delegation's role in protecting national interests.

He announced that the high-ranking delegation, which has arrived in Pakistan, will be fully engaged in the negotiation process. According to him, the Iranian representatives will conduct the talks "with courage" and with a clear focus on the country's interests.

In his statement, Pezeshkian also underlined that the government's work will not stop regardless of developments in the negotiations. He stressed that serving citizens remains a priority and that the government will stand by the people in all circumstances.

"The high-ranking Iranian delegation that has arrived in Pakistan is, with all its might, the defender of Iran's interests and, in this regard, will negotiate boldly.

"However, our service to the people will not stop for a moment and, whatever the outcome of the negotiations, the government stands firmly with the people," Pezeshkian said.

The statement reflects Tehran's official stance, clearly separating diplomatic engagement from the internal functioning of the government.

US-Iran negotiations, Pakistani Prime Minister reacts: Determined to mediate

Pakistan will continue to play the role of mediator in negotiations between Iran and the United States. The announcement was made by the office of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after a meeting with the Iranian delegation that arrived in Islamabad for talks with American representatives, askanews reported.

The official statement said: “ While appreciating Iran’s engagement in the Islamabad talks, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s sincere determination to continue playing its role as a mediator to contribute to creating momentum towards meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and global peace and stability .”

Negotiations between Washington and Tehran to resolve the conflict began today in Islamabad. The night before, US President Donald Trump announced that he had agreed to a two-week bilateral ceasefire with Iran.

According to sources, a possible agreement could be based on a ten-point Iranian proposal, which is said to have received the approval of the US side. The plan includes the lifting of sanctions against Iran, recognition of its control over the Strait of Hormuz, the right to enrich uranium, as well as guarantees of non-aggression and the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Israeli operations against Hezbollah.

However, the situation remains tense. The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that the United States has already violated the last three points of the proposal, rendering the ceasefire ineffective.

Face-to-face conversations are key, but success depends on perspective

The face-to-face talks between the United States and Iran, brokered by Pakistan, mark a historic moment in relations between the two countries, according to international sources. They are considered the highest-level meetings between Washington and Tehran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, signaling a significant step toward direct dialogue after decades of tensions.

According to the BBC, the development of the trilateral talks and direct contacts suggest that the parties have identified concrete elements in their proposals where progress can be made. The fact that the American and Iranian delegations have agreed to sit at the same table, while Pakistan has mediated communication and coordination, indicates a new level of diplomatic engagement.

However, how the success of these talks will be defined remains relative and depends on the perspectives of different actors. The conflict in the region has had far-reaching international consequences: global oil prices have risen sharply, energy infrastructure in the Middle East has suffered significant damage, and thousands of people have lost their lives.

In this context, a prolonged ceasefire and a possible peace agreement would constitute an important outcome for the international community, which seeks stability in the region and in global energy markets.

On the other hand, Iranian citizens, who have lived for years under the influence of economic sanctions, may see these talks as an opportunity for economic relief and improved living conditions. However, there are also concerns within the country about the political direction.

According to accounts from some Iranian citizens, including those who have fled their homes due to insecurity, there are fears that a new leadership could be more harsh than the previous one. These concerns are also fueled by memories of recent events, including a brutal crackdown in January that left thousands of people dead.

In this complex situation, the current talks represent an important diplomatic step, but their final outcome and impact on the ground still remain uncertain.

US-Iran talks progress, sides begin face-to-face negotiations

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

Talks between Iran and the United States have entered a new phase, as the parties have moved from indirect communication to direct trilateral meetings mediated by Pakistan.

According to Pakistani government sources, quoted by the BBC, face-to-face talks are currently underway between representatives of Iran, the US and Pakistan. Earlier, the dialogue was conducted indirectly through Pakistani mediators. This means that the parties have agreed and are ready to discuss the points proposed by the parties.

This is a step forward in the diplomatic process, given the deep differences and lack of trust between the two sides on key issues. The move to direct meetings is seen as an indication of an improvement in the climate for negotiations.

However, it remains to be seen whether this process will lead to a prolonged ceasefire, a concrete agreement or at least to the continuation of dialogue in the future. In this context, Pakistan's role as a mediator is considered essential in advancing the talks.

Iran has warned that a US warship would be attacked within 30 minutes if it passed through the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian state television reported.

According to a senior Iranian military official, the ship withdrew after this warning. Iranian authorities did not provide further details on the ship's specific actions or its location.

Earlier, American media outlet Axios reported that several United States Navy ships had crossed the strait in an operation that was not coordinated with Iran.

Former President Donald Trump appeared to confirm this information, stating that the US military had launched operations to "clean up" the strait.

However, Iranian authorities have denied that any American ship has passed through that area, highlighting inconsistencies between the parties' statements.

"The US is cleaning the Strait of Hormuz", Trump stings allies: We are doing the work that some countries did not have the courage to do!

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

He stressed that the US has now begun the process of cleaning the Strait of Hormuz...

As Iranian and US delegations continue talks in Pakistan to reach a peace agreement, President Donald Trump has continued to talk about winning the war through posts on the social network "Truthsocial".

In a recent post, Trump initially criticized all the media outlets that, according to him, spread fake news when they claim that Iran has won the war with the US. Trump emphasizes that this is a big lie and that the US has destroyed all of Iran's capabilities, starting from the navy, air defense, radars and missile factories.

Trump acknowledged that the only remaining threat from Iran were mines placed along the Strait of Hormuz, which could endanger ships passing through it.

The Fake News Media has lost total credibility, not that they had any to begin with. Because of their massive Trump Derangement Syndrome (sometimes referred to as TDS!), they like to say that Iran is “winning,” when, in fact, everyone knows they are LOSING, and LOSING A LOT! Their Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Anti-Aircraft is nonexistent, their Radar is dead, their Missile and Drone Factories are mostly gone along with the Missiles and Drones themselves, and, most importantly, their early “Leaders” are no longer with us, thank God! The only thing they have is the threat that a ship might “run” on one of their naval mines, which, by the way, all 28 of their minelaying ships are also on the bottom of the sea ,” Trump wrote.

He further emphasized that the US has now begun the process of cleaning the Strait of Hormuz, signaling that it will soon be open to all types of ships. Trump added that the US is doing this as a tribute to countries like China, Japan, France and Germany, which, according to him, did not have the courage to do this job.

We are now beginning the process of cleaning up the Strait of Hormuz as a courtesy to countries around the world, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany and many others. Surprisingly, they do not have the courage or the will to do this job themselves. However, it is very interesting that empty ships carrying oil from many countries are all heading to the United States of America to be LOADED with oil. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP ,” Trump concluded.

We recall that peace talks to end the war between the US and Iran are taking place in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, international media reported that several US Navy warships passed through the Strait of Hormuz today. The move was not coordinated with Iranian authorities, making it an important symbolic and operational move amid high tensions following the temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran.

US-Iran talks in Islamabad under 2+1 format, details revealed

Talks between the United States and Iran have begun, taking place in a three-way format with Pakistan acting as a mediator, according to Reuters reports.

The meeting is being held under conditions that are not entirely clear regarding the method of communication between the parties, as it has not been confirmed whether the delegations are in the same room or in separate rooms, with mediation being carried out through Pakistani officials.

Before the negotiations began, the Iranian side set two main conditions for reaching an agreement: an immediate cessation of fighting in Lebanon and the unblocking of Iranian assets frozen abroad. According to Tehran, these elements were part of an initial framework agreement reached earlier this week.

Washington, on the other hand, has taken a more reserved approach. Donald Trump has said that Iran “doesn’t have any strong negotiating cards,” stressing that reopening the Strait of Hormuz remains an immediate priority for the United States. He has also stressed that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is “99% of the issue.”

According to information, the negotiation process is expected to take place in several stages. Initially, separate meetings of the delegations with Pakistani mediators are foreseen, while indirect negotiations may follow, where the parties communicate through mediators while staying in separate premises.

A third phase, possible only in case of progress, could lead to direct talks between delegations, which would be considered an important step towards reducing tensions and reaching an agreement.

US-Iran talks yield first results, US warships pass Strait of Hormuz without incident

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

Peace talks to end the war between the US and Iran are underway in Islamabad. Reuters news agency says the talks are three-way, suggesting Pakistani mediators are moving between the two sides.

Although there is still no information on how the talks are progressing, the first positive signs of this meeting have been seen on the ground, more precisely in the Strait of Hormuz.

International media reports that several US Navy warships passed through the Strait of Hormuz today. The move was not coordinated with Iranian authorities, making it an important symbolic and operational move amid high tensions following a temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran.

According to sources, it is believed to be the first time an American ship has passed through this strategic waterway since the beginning of the conflict in February 2026, when Iran effectively closed the strait by threatening commercial ships and demanding coordination or payment for passage.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most critical points of global oil transport, with about a fifth of the world's oil passing through it. During the conflict, commercial traffic was significantly reduced to minimal levels due to fears of mines, drone attacks and Iranian threats. Even after the ceasefire announced on April 8, the movement of ships has remained limited, with Iran continuing to insist on control over the passages. This transit of US ships is seen as a clear message from Washington about freedom of navigation in international waters and as a practical test of the security of the strait after previous US strikes on the Iranian fleet and naval infrastructure.

Peace negotiations, Macron and Bin Salman demand full respect for the ceasefire!

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

French President Emmanuel Macron has held talks with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding efforts for a ceasefire and stability in the region, at a time when negotiations in Islamabad have just begun.

Macron announced that the two leaders agreed to maintain close contacts to coordinate positions and contribute to reducing tensions. He stressed his support for full respect for the ceasefire and its extension in the region.

"I reiterated my support for the ceasefire, which must be fully respected and extended without delay to Lebanon," Macron declared.

According to him, another key issue discussed was security in strategic sea routes.

"We discussed the need to restore completely free and safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible ," the French president said.

On the eve of the start of talks in Islamabad, Macron stressed the importance of international coordination to reach a lasting agreement.

"We agreed to remain in close contact with the aim of contributing to a reduction in tensions, freedom of navigation and the conclusion of an agreement to ensure lasting peace and security in the region ," he said.

The statements come at a critical moment for the region, where tensions remain high and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is considered essential for global trade and energy security.

Orë vendimtare, nisin bisedimet SHBA-Iran në Pakistan

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

Restricted ship passage through Hormuz as US-Iran talks await

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

Several ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend, as peace talks between Iran and the United States are expected to begin in Islamabad. Marine tracking data showed limited activity, well below the usual level of traffic in the strategic waterway.

According to the MarineTraffic platform, a small number of ships – mostly Chinese tankers and bulk carriers – passed through the strait on Saturday. A Chinese dry cargo ship had entered overnight, having departed from the Iraqi port of Umm Qasr about a month ago.

Also, two Chinese crude oil tankers, each with a capacity of about 300,000 tons, passed late Saturday, sailing near the Iranian coast. Meanwhile, a Botswana-flagged liquefied natural gas tanker, identified as the “Nidi,” managed to enter the Gulf of Oman on its second attempt, after being forced to withdraw a day earlier.

All eyes on Islamabad, US-Iran face-to-face negotiations!

However, traffic remains significantly reduced. Of the approximately 100 ships that typically pass through this vital corridor each day, records show that only two large carriers passed through on Friday.

On the political front, tensions remain high. US President Donald Trump has publicly criticized Iran, accusing it of unfairly allowing oil to pass through the strait. “This is not the deal we have,” he wrote on social media.

On the other hand, the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported from Islamabad that Tehran has maintained the current conditions for maritime transit, describing them as a reaction to what it considers a violation of the ceasefire agreement by the US and its allies. According to Iran, the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz remains conditional on the approval of its authorities.
