A Cirque du Soleil artist had a scary experience during her performance in Oregon over the weekend. Cast member Mariia Konfektova was spinning around in the air when she suddenly lost control of the large circle and fell hard to the ground. Her head bounces off the floor and she looks around in a daze. People rushed to her aid as the video ended, foreign media reported.
One spectator, Benjamin Goldstein, told ABC News that he thought the disaster was all part of the show at first — but then he saw blood pouring from Maria's nose and realized it was actually a freak accident. Cirque du Soleil later issued a statement saying that Konfektova was conscious, in stable condition and under the care of doctors.
