Robert Redford, one of the biggest names in American cinema, has passed away at the age of 89. In addition to his extraordinary success in film, he left behind a considerable fortune estimated at around 170 million euros.
During his long career as an actor, director, and producer, Redford earned millions of dollars from major film projects. For “The Last Castle” (2001) alone, he earned a record $11 million. He had previously received $500,000 for “The Sting” (1973), $2 million for “A Bridge Too Far” (1977), and $4 million for “Indecent Proposal” (1993).
A significant part of his fortune was in real estate investments. He owned an impressive portfolio, including an 1,800-acre property in Utah, part of which is protected as a nature preserve. He also had a ranch near his famous resort called “Sundance” and a waterfront home in Tiburon, California, which sold in late 2024 for $4.65 million.
Redford also owned properties in New York, Aspen, Malibu and Santa Fe. His business activities, particularly through the “Sundance” project, made him not only a film icon, but also a successful entrepreneur.
