Grant Harrold, a former butler to the British royal family, has shared a special memory that, according to him, clearly showed that Kate Middleton and Prince William were destined to marry. Harrold served King Charles, then Prince of Wales, from 2004 to 2011, and during this time he had the opportunity to see the beginnings of the couple's relationship up close.

Following the couple's much-publicised split in 2007 and their reunion a few months later, Harrold recalls an intimate dinner at Highgrove House in 2008, where he catered just for William and Kate. "It was just the two of them, it was a quiet and romantic atmosphere, but also very friendly to me. That's when I knew they were going to get married," he told British media.

According to Harrold, after their reunion, the couple's relationship changed significantly. "Before, they seemed more like friends, but after getting back together, everything changed. They became an inseparable couple and we knew that marriage was only a matter of time," he added.

On April 29, 2011, Prince William and Kate Middleton were married in one of the most watched royal ceremonies in the world. Harrold notes that their relationship was reminiscent of that of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who, in addition to being spouses, were also each other's best friends.

"They are partners in love and in life, just like Elizabeth and Philip were," the former servant said.
