The director of the Shkodra Police, Edmond Sulaj, has reacted to the accusations that Gazment Bardhi raised in the Assembly, saying that he was appointed to that position by criminal exponents.
Sula has denied the accusations, saying that this is a slander aimed at damaging his image. Sulaj states that he was appointed to this position 3 years after the period to which Bardhi refers.
The head of the Shkodra Police has announced criminal charges against Bardhi.
"Regarding some statements made by a representative of a political subject in the plenary session of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania on 12.09.2024 about some insinuations about my appointment as Director of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, I feel the moral and professional responsibility to clarify public opinion that these statements made today are defamation, unfounded and intended to harm my image in this important process of opening competitions for leadership positions in the State Police.
I clarify the public opinion that I, First Director Edmond Reis SULAJ, have been appointed to this position according to the Order of the Director General of the State Police no. 6108, dated 11.10.2023. It is clearly clarified that my appointment was made about 3 years later than the time period to which the declarant refers.
In the following, I inform you that I will proceed with the legal steps provided by the law in force, including the filing of a criminal report" , writes Edmond Sulaj on social networks.
